How to use the Barbieri Swing QB with PrintFactory RIP

  1. Registering and Updating Firmware

  • Download Barbieri Gateway and register the device.

  • Check for the latest firmware, which is self-explanatory through the software. It automatically recognizes unregistered devices upon connection

  1. Preparing for Measurements

  • Before inserting the target sheet for measurement, ensure to cut off excess material according to dotted cut marks

  • Ensure the target sheet is straight and flat to fit into the device.

  1. Setting Up in Calibrator

  • Type: Barbieri Spectro Swing qb

  • Connecting measurement device to be used for profiling / recalibration:

    • TCP IP connection: 

      • Insert IP Address in the preferences. To set a static address for the Barbieri see the document linked to this article.

    • USB connection:

      • Connect devices directly through USB cable

  • Measure Aperture automatically adapts to ratio of Patch Size, when the patch size is smaller or equal to 6mm, then 2mm aperture is applied

  1. Pre-Measurement Maintenance

  • For replacing the measuring lamps or clearing a paper jam, it is necessary to open the upper cover of the instrument 

  • It is also recommended to open the cover for cleaning the optics every now and then open the instrument

    • Switch off the device and disconnect the power supply

    • Release the upper cover by unscrewing the screws situated on the left and right side of the instrument and carefully remove the cover 

  1. Storage

  • Make sure to use the black fabric cover to put over the device when it is not in use. It prevents dust gathering in the device
