Calibrator Color Mapping

Calibrator Color Mapping

A generic color mapping instruction can be set up by defining a color mapping instruction in Calibrator.  This will always map a certain color to a defined output whether the file is sent through an automation workflow, a queue or via Editor and Layout.

How to create a Spot Mapping

  1. Calibrator: select the icon Color Mapping

  2. Click + to add one
  3. set the input and output options.  Spots can be any spot name from the libraries or a custom spot in the pmm.

  4. Save the color mapping

  5. in Windows:  go to C:\\users\public\Printfactory   - For Mac: c:\\users\shared\Printfactory  and create a folder Color Mappings and save the default.colormap in there.

Note:
  1.   if output is CMYK,  then the Output profile is taken into account and a 80%magenta might output as CMYK values.

  1.   If output is Spot : e.g. 80% magenta, then it will also take into account the linearity of the curve. In example below, output as 40%
