Dual Band Rendering

Dual Band Rendering

What is Dual Band Rendering?

The RIP processes a print job in sections called bands. With Dual Band Rendering enabled, it can process the current band and prepare the next band at the same time. It uses additional memory and processor capacity.

This helps deliver print data to the printer more quickly and reduces waiting between bands.

This feature is available from V2026.2.1

Where to enable Dual Band rendering?

  1. Open the printer’s Output Device settings.
  2. Select the Options tab.
  3. Enable Dual band rendering.
  4. Save the device settings.
Info
Note:  DTG devices have this option enabled by default.

What are the benefits?

Dual Band Rendering can:

  • Improve RIP performance for complex or high-resolution jobs.
  • Help fast printers receive data continuously.
  • Reduce delays caused by the RIP processing each band individually.
  • Improve overall production throughput.

The greatest benefit is seen on systems with multiple processor cores and sufficient memory.

Note: It doesn't affect resolution, screening or color.

Will it make every job print faster?

Not necessarily. It is most beneficial when RIP processing is limiting the printer’s speed. It cannot increase the printer’s maximum mechanical speed.

Simple jobs or slower printers may show little difference.
