Saving and Exporting Files in PrintFactory Editor: Best Practices for Future Use and PDF Output

There are several ways to save an edited file from PrintFactory Editor for future use, including the printer settings, media, mode, and variant, along with the cut data and nesting layout from Layout. PrintFactory Editor is designed specifically for use within the PrintFactory Ecosystem of production RIP workflows, not for editing PDFs to be used in other software. Therefore, we do not support exporting all edits as a PDF.

If you need to create a PDF for purposes such as soft proofing or client approval, our PDF output driver is the best option. It supports formats like A3+, A0, and XL (5m x 100m) with resolutions ranging from 72x72 to 3600x3600 dpi. This driver uses the same 16-bit RIP engine as the production workflow, ensuring content accuracy and allowing the edited artwork to be scaled from its original production version.
