Layout or Editor Crashing

When needed

When following the guidance from this FAQ does not work, you can try the following:

In particular circumstances, as a last resort, and if Editor / Layout keeps crashing and deleting, and remaking Editor.xml doesn’t help.


Where

Windows: 

Regedit* 

Step 1: 

E.g. Editor: 

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Aurelon\Editor 

If no luck, then delete it from the below as well

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PrintFactory\Editor

Step 2: 
Restart Pc. 

Mac: 

Step 1: delete ~/Library/Library/Preferences/com.printfactory.Editor.plist

Step 2: restart Mac


* How to find Regedit on Windows:
Method 1: The Run Command (Fastest)
Press the Windows Key + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialog box.
Type regedit into the box.
Press Enter or click OK.

Method 2: Windows Search
Press the Windows Key or click the Start menu.
Type regedit or Registry Editor into the search bar.
Click on the Registry Editor application from the results.
