Mapping Grommets to a Cutter Tool (e.g. Drill) in PrintFactory Workflow
Step 1: Create a Custom Grommet File
Create a PDF containing a circle with its stroke defined as a spot colour, named to match the target tool (for example, Drill). A sample Drill.pdf is attached to this article as a reference.
Open the PDF in PrintFactory Editor and save it as an .aur file in the Grommets folder:
Windows
C:\Users\Public\PrintFactory\Grommets
macOS
HD/Users/Shared/PrintFactory/Grommets
Once saved, the file will appear as an available grommet type for selection in the Workflow step.
Step 2: Configure the Grommets Step
In the Grommets workflow step, set Grommet Type to Drill. Configure spacing and offsets as required.
Step 3: Add a Cutcontour Step
Add a Cutcontour step immediately after the Grommets step. Under Tool Mapping, add a row:
- Spot Color Name:
Drill - Cut Layer:
Drill
The spot colour name must exactly match the spot color in the custom Grommet file
