Moving License Server

Moving PrintFactory License Server to Another PC

When you need to move the License Server to a new PC, the PrintFactory license must first be deactivated on the current PC and then reactivated on the new one. This is because the License Server in the Cloud stores details about the PC where it’s currently activated.

Step 1: Deactivating the License

Before you begin: Ensure you have access to the PC where the license is currently active.

  1. Open Software Manager:

    • Windows: Navigate to C:\Program Files\PrintFactory\Software Manager.exe
    • Mac: Go to Applications folder/PrintFactory/Software Manager.app
  2. Deactivating on Windows:

    • Launch Software Manager.
    • Select the key icon in the top left corner.
    • Choose Deactivate License and follow the prompts:
Deactivate License -> Next -> Finish

Deactivating on Mac:

  • Open Software Manager.
  • Select Help from the menu.
  • Choose Deactivate License and follow the prompts:
  • Deactivate License -> Next -> Finish
Once the license is deactivated, it can be activated on the new PC.

Step 2: Activating the License on the New PC

To activate the license on the new PC, you’ll need the login credentials for your PrintFactory Hub account.

    1. Open Software Manager on the new PC:

      • Windows: C:\Program Files\PrintFactory\Software Manager.exe
      • Mac: Applications Folder -> PrintFactory Folder -> Software Manager app
    2. Click Activate. This will automatically open the Hub in your browser.

    3. Login to your PrintFactory account at:
      PrintFactory Hub Login

    4. Once logged in, the system will automatically retrieve the necessary details to activate the license on the new PC.

If you encounter any issues during the deactivation or activation process, please contact our support team for assistance.
