Multi-Roll Printing

Multi-roll printing allows jobs to be produced on different media types or sizes using printers equipped with multiple rolls.
Starting with version 6.8.1, we introduced the PrintStation multi-roll printing feature, making it simple to manage and execute multi-roll, multi-media printing.

Before beginning the multi-roll setup, ensure that PrintStation is correctly configured: Configure PrintStation

Configuring PrintStation to use Multi-Roll Printing:


Media Settings:



Custom SizeDefine your printable size manually.
Media Size: Select a predefined Roll size.
Multi-Roll: Specify the number of rolls needed (up to a maximum of 7 rolls).

Setting up a multiple rolls:


Enable Multi-Roll by selecting the number of rolls to configure.
Click the red marked multi-roll icon to expand the roll size menu for each roll.



For each roll, input the media width, height, roll-to-roll gap, and margins (left, right, top, and bottom).

Roll configuration:



A - Roll width
B - Roll length
C - Spacing between jobs
D - Spacing between rolls
E - Left margin
F - Right margin
G - Top margin
H - Bottom margin

Once all settings are configured, click "Apply" to update the canvas preview.

After jobs are ripped, they will appear in the PrintStation Job Queue.

You can sort the jobs by using the up and down arrows located to the right of the search bar.




Next, use drag-and-drop to place jobs onto the desired roll.

A dialog box will appear, allowing you to specify the number of copies.

Pages is used, when Nested Layout jobs are submitted as a Layout "Split into Individual Pages". 

By pressing the play button will expand the dialog showing the individual pages.

When ready, submit the jobs using the Send Job button.

Notes:

-      Swap the left job to the right roll if the printer is printing upside down

-      On some Printer models its possible to allow different media type's and print mode
