PrintFactory Zund Cut Center integration

PrintFactory Zund Cut Center integration

PrintFactory Zund Cut Center(ZCC) drivers have direct bidirectional communication with Zund Cut Center, the software installed on Zund digital front ends. We have made it easy to integrate your Zund cutter into the PrintFactory workflow thus reducing the requirement for third party applications used to prepare your jobs ready for cutting. Detailed below are the key features:

Communication to ZCC to retrieve the cutter media database

Automatic retrieval of Zund Media database via bidirectional communication with ZCC allows the PrintFactory operator to select the media & tool being used to cut the job at the time of job creation thus removing a manual step from the Zund operator. Any changes made to the media database in the ZCC media manager are synced automatically to PrintFactory. These options are available in both Editor, Layout and RIP queues.

Folder and IP Connectivity

ZCC drivers contain IP and folder output allowing direct connectivity to the Zund Cut Center hotfolder meaning PrintFactory Print & Cut jobs will automatically separate and send the cut data to ZCC and populate the ZCC Job queue ready for the Zund operator to start the job by barcode scanner or manual code search. For help adding a device, see here.

ZCC Cut only RIP Queues

PrintFactory gives the opportunity of Zund Cut Center ‘Cut-Only’ queues in the RIP allowing the user to process cut only (so no print data) jobs via the RIP directly to the Zund with the media and tool settings pre-selected including but not limited to kiss-cut, thru-cut & router jobs. This functionality reduces the requirement for third party applications to produce cut-only jobs for the Zund Cutter. For further information on how to set these up, see here.

Mapping to multiple cut tools in Editor and Layout

Using the PrintFactory Spot color to cut tool mapping you can map multiple tools in one file. This means the user can kiss cut & thru-cut in one file & the cut job in ZCC will know exactly which tools to use with which paths. If artwork contains spot colours that are named identically to Zund Cut tools then Layout will automatically map those spot colour contour lines to the corresponding tools, reducing user intervention & ensuring all paths are cut with the intended tool. Here is a PrintFactory job with two types of cut data, predetermined in PrintFactory Editor:

Job settings such as Tool Selection and registration methods (best fit/fit to job)

Advanced tool options in PrintFactory sync directly with ZCC to enable the user to submit print and cut jobs integrated with registration marks and job registration methods. There is no longer any need to use third party applications to prepare your jobs for cutting with the Zund. In PrintFactory you can add or remove cut data, add cutter registration marks, barcodes, bleed and much more to help you create your Print & Cut job in one simple workflow.

Custom Cut Marks

You can create your own custom cut marks customised to your personal requirements. Choose which sides of the image to place reg marks, choose the size of the marks, the distance between them, the amount of White ink surrounding them and much more. Please see our Custom marks help pages here

Barcodes are also entirely customisable, choose the type (typical or QR), size in width and height & their location on the page.
