Summa set-up for Barcode reading

Summa set-up for Barcode reading

The steps below describe how to set up the Summa so that the cut jobs in the RIP are picked up automatically by reading the barcode.

File preparation

- Layout:  Create a print and Cut file using e.g. Summa S Class 2 160 D/T
- Select the Summa S Class marks in Cutter window
- Map the spot to the tools or set a page cut in Image Marks window
- Submit to the RIP

=> In the RIP the Cut job Remains on Hold.

Settings on the Summa

On the Summa cutter:
- Go to  Actions on front menu > OPOS barcode
-  Then it will say ' Place Knife below barcode'
- This means in front of the image to cut.  See red dot below.   Positioning of the knife is done by pressing the arrows on the display.
It will drop the camera down, then moves upwards and fin the barcode and starts to scan it.
After reading the barcode, it will pull the job from the RIP.
Once finished with the job, it will automatically search for the next barcode.
