Installing swissQprint printers with Lory DFE

Installing swissQprint printers with Lory DFE

When installing the swissQprint  driver in the RIP, the specific content for this driver (e.g. ink channels, print modes,..) needs to be obtained from the .SQPE configuration file created on the Lory Digital Front End(DFE) of the printer.

To find the .sqpe file you need to go to the Lory interface, go to the Extras menu -> Export RIP configuration:

This will export configuration .SQPE file. You need to copy this onto a USB drive or onto an accessible network location so that you can access this file on the PrintFactory RIP computer.

When adding the swissQprint Kudu/Karibu/Nyala-5/Impala-5 (or any other device using the Lory front end) you need to click the "Select SQPE" button and locate and select the file previously exported from Lory:

After you have selected the .SPQE file and an output folder for ripped jobs, you can click OK.
Alert
If you fail to select an .SQPE, the default .SQPE will be used and it will not match your specific printer ink channels and available modes.
