Layout Tiling: adding Tile Rest
What is a Tile Rest
When using set widths in tiling and the full image does not completely fit, the tile rest allow to divide still in equal round number tiles, but the last remnant is added to the last tile.
E.g. image width of 2001mm => tiling in 500mm tiles => tile 1 to 3 = 500mm and tile 4 = 501mm
The function is available for file additions up to 1.41mm ( = 1 unit)
Available from V6.7.1 onwards in Layout Tool.
How to use Tile Rest
In Layout:
- select and image and select Finishing tab
- Select Tile Tab, select the image and tick Divide into Columns on
- Image below is 1001mm wide:
- Divide equally into 500mm with tile rest ON => Tile 1 = 500mm , Tile 2 = 501mm
- Equal Division without rest addition will return a message:
- Add Tile Rest is greyed out if offcut is >1.41mm - image in example below is 1003mm wide. Thus creating 3 tiles.
