Kornit DTG set-up

Kornit DTG set-up

Kornit DTG printers uses a dynamic configuration system based on KST files. Those files define the resolutions, media properties and all handling settings that are available in the DFE of the printer.

At the printer a the PrintAgent needs to be installed. The PrintAgent takes care of the following functionality:
  1. Delivering jobs directly to the Kornit HotFolder
  2. Retrieving all configurations and stay updated with any changes
  3. Supply all settings along with the job to make job set-up easy
  4. Track job progress and usage statistics
More information about PrintAgent can be found here

After installing the PrintAgent the printer can be set-up at the RIP. In the RIP select the correct PrintAgent. When you're in the same network the PrintAgent will most likely automatically be visible else enter the IP address of the Kornit printer.
Then using the folder browser button next to the PrintAgent selector navigate to the "QuickP Production" folder. The folder browser shows the content of the disk at the Kornit printer. The "QuickP Production" folder usually contains these elements:
  1. Common
  2. Install Log
  3. Release Note
After selecting the "QuickP Production" folder confirm the set-up and the synchronization of the data will start. This might take a minute or 2.
Note:
It is possible that you can get an error message  after following these guidelines and if this is the case, please check to make sure that on the Kornit front end, you have the following folder structure in place "D:\QuickP Production\Common\Hotfolder\". Sometimes the\common\hotfolder folders are not made on the Kornit front end system and will need to be made manually in order for the connection to work.
