Using SmartWorking in PrintFactory

SmartWorking is a feature available to users on the Connect plan. It enables remote working by allowing you to run Editor or Layout from outside the factory, without needing access to the on-site LicenseServer.

When to Use SmartWorking

Use SmartWorking when:

  • You're working away from your factory or office

  • The Proxy computer hosting the LicenseServer isn't accessible

  • You need to send jobs remotely

What SmartWorking Allows You to Do

  • Run Editor and Layout without the local LicenseServer

  • Send jobs remotely/prepare work in Editor

How to Activate SmartWorking

  1. Open Editor or Layout

  2. Go to Preferences > Account

  3. Check the box for SmartWorking

  4. Ensure your user account is logged in

  5. Once activated, your license will authenticate via the Cloud Hub instead of the LicenseServer

NotesNote: You must have an active Cloud Hub account and be added to your organization’s account as an employee.

Add Team Members to Cloud Hub

To grant SmartWorking access to colleagues, they must be added to your organization's Cloud Hub account.
