True Shape Nesting V6.8

True Shape Nesting V6.8

From V6.8 onwards the True shape Nesting function had been refactored.  The TSN functionality has been extended with a Trim & Bleed tool which automates file preparation and with new nesting algorithms improving nesting efficiency.

The steps for TSN 4

1. Prepare the images by using Trim and Bleed to create the Nest Shape and the Cut layer

2. Map the cut layer to the Cut Tool

3. True Shape nest preset

  1. Alignment and Nest window: Select + or Edit (pencil icon) to create a True Shape preset
  2. Name the Preset
  3. Select True Shape Algorithm
  4. Set the rotation:  note:  the smaller the rotation angle, the more calculation is required, which, depending on the shape, might increase the nesting time
  5. Place objects inside each other:

  6. Complexity: Low or High.  This function allows to control the speed of nesting algorithm. Setting this parameter to High significantly increases computation time but nesting efficiency as well compared to Low (default). Especially useful in textile industry when only 180/90 degree rotations allowed.  It might be beneficial to start with Low and check.

  7. Click Nest

4. Submit to RIP

=> creates your print and cut file
